I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas Needle Felted Crew

This is a set I've been working on for a quite awhile now. I love the look of white on white and wanted to do a real True North Winter scene.
My polar bear who measures approximately 16.5 cm (6 1/2 inches) in length.
A little snowshoe hare (approx. 7 cm (2 3/4 inches) comes with the set.
How could you not have a snowman in the great white north?!
Finally Father Christmas to watch over the white crew. All listed on McBride House along with a bunch of other new creations!

Front Page Bootwarmers!

As any seller on Etsy knows, it is very exciting to make the front page! I don't get on the front page very often, but this morning I had two convos from the wonderful NoodleNoggin and from a complete and wonderful stranger Fluffy Flowers telling me I was on the front page! This beautiful treasury was put together by the very talented soap maker ThistleDelight!

What a great thing to wake up to! Thank you everybody!

Mother Nature Weekend

More flooding this weekend in Southern New Brunswick. A poor little bird that hit the window and fell into the jaws of Porky (after I rescued him). A doe peaking out of the woods. Mother Nature takes, and she gives right back.

Dickens's Needle Felted Animals

I've just finished listing my newest series of needle felted animals. I think they look like little characters out of Dickens's world!
This is Rocky Raccoon and for Christmas he wants fish, garbage can, black eye shadow and he does not want any books on Davy Crockett (he doesn't like horror stories.)
This is Mr Piggy Pig and all he wants for Christmas is Slop. Shouldn't be too hard to accommodate him on that one!
Loulou Lapin would like to have extra long earmuffs, carrots, a tail fluffer but most of all she does not want sweaters! She says that she is already angora, so she certainly does not need a sweater!
Merp the Frog would love to have some flies.... he says he likes them fresh, but he will take them extra crispy too.
Finally, Finnian Fox. Finnian just really wants to find a new home with some other foxy ladies in it. He's quite a ladies man and I'm afraid he might get quite lonely here without any other foxes.

Have a great weekend everybody!

Needle Felted Santa Claus

I'm afraid our Fall season may just be over. It's cold, wet and did I say cold? Oh well, bring on winter, I'm ready for the Christmas season with all of my needle felted Santa's!
This is Flying High Santa. He's my interpretation on how Santa gets all those Christmas decorations on the top of those really tall trees! He just flies on up there with a string of beads and poof! A decorated Christmas tree!

Santa's resting his weary feet and is checking his list to make sure he should leave this beautiful blue present with you. Should he? Have you been nice? Only you know!
What can I say about this little guy, he's a Santa and a Snowman all wrapped up in one! The best of two worlds, hence the name, Santa Snowman!
Aren't you lucky, Santa's not only coming to visit, he's bringing his own Christmas tree! Hmmm... that's a very small tree... and a small tree requires small little presents to go under it! Oh well, as we women know, the best things come in small little boxes! Sorry guys, no big screen TV for you this year!

Happy Weekend!

These were the leaves on my two big maples behind the house yesterday.
After heavy winds yesterday I awoke this morning to see the leaves are gone. The fall colour splendor is over, only a few yellow leaves are left. Fall seemed really short this year. In fact there were places nearby that got snow a few nights ago.
While I was out taking pictures of some felted items I was being stalked! Piggy was just about to assume the pounce position when I foiled his plans!
I made a "peep" sound to get Porky's attention. I think I startled him! Look at those big green eyes!
Piggy on the prowl. Again he was stalking me! Notice his eyes are still blue... I wonder when they will change?
Have a happy weekend everybody!

Happy Thanksgiving from Canada

No big Thanksgiving dinners for us this year, but instead we went for a nice drive to look at the fall colours and get some apples for the deer. We stopped at this stand and as soon as I saw the pumpkin on the top of the roof under the Canadian flag, I knew it would be my opening picture!
The colours are past their peak but still breath taking. In places it looked like it was snowing there were so many leaves falling.
Our big load of apples for the deer! Men and their hunting...hmphh!
They say it was a bad year for pumpkins, but this place had quite a few of the really large ones.
I missed the brilliant red of the blueberry fields, but they are still really quite beautiful.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Fall Splendor in New Brunswick, Canada

I think the fall colours are now at their peak in New Brunswick, Canada. At least they are at my house! I have two large Silver Maples in the front corner of my house, and although the leaves only change to a dull yellow and not the brilliant reds and oranges, I still love them. They blanket the lawn in a thick crispy yellow coating that just cries to be run through!
We are also getting a lot of rain lately, and the tiny brook beside my driveway sounds like Niagara Falls.
This is my favourite tree! It starts to change very early in the year to the most brilliant reds and oranges and blankets the shed and ground in a carpet. There is also a "wind tunnel" that gathers all the leaves in one spot and this is my spot to kick up my heels and be a kid again! Both my studio and "my room" look out on this tree and you can just see the studio window in the upper left hand corner.
Happy Fall everybody!

Happy Monday and Other Stuff

It's near impossible to get a good picture of the kittens while they are awake, but I did manage to snap this one, doesn't he just look so proud of himself!

As you all know, I sell my patterns on Etsy and Artfire, but also on a new site called Zibbet! Today I discovered a blog that is running a contest for a free Lifetime Membership on Zibbet! Paper n Stitch is working with Zibbet and this is what they have to say:

"We teamed up with Zibbet to offer TWO free premium accounts for life to two lucky winners.
And we also have a promo code for ANYONE to use to try out the site with a premium account for free for seven days. Use promo code PAPERNSTITCH for a free seven day premium trial. Worth a shot right?"

I think it's worth a shot indeed! I actually won a door prize on Saturday at a craft show, so I'm ready to win some more!

Fallen Comrades

Fall happens every year, but it still takes my breathe away. It never ceases to amaze me with it's brilliance of colours. I do, however, tend to walk with my head down looking at all the poor fallen leaves and I often come back from getting the mail with more leaves in my hand than mail. I just can't stop myself from picking up all those bright coloured jewels. Here's a few pictures of some fallen comrades.
