Wooland Gnome Needle Felted Soft Sculpture... New at McBride House!

Due to the expanse of the human population into otherwise unpopulated areas, the Woodland Gnome has been forced to retreat further and further into the deep woods making sightings of them extremely rare. Luckily for me I live in a sparsely populated part of the world and have on the rare occasion spotted a few of these wonderful Gnomes!

Look at how close I got to this guy!  According to him he is about 28.5 cm tall (about 11 inches).  I'm not sure why the half a centimeter is that important, but he stressed to me that he was 28 AND A HALF cm tall!

As you can see he also has two little spotted toad stools that he rests his little bum on.  You can see more about him HERE at McBride House!

Haunted Halloween House

I think I've mentioned before that I love houses?  Well after making my Church I went completely in the opposite direction and made a Haunted House!

The front of the house has a little 3-D pumpkin and a potted shrub along with crooked shutters and creepy vines.

You can see in this picture the sculpted shingles on the roof.  Very time consuming to do them, but so worth it!

This side and the back has a tree growing up and around the roof and if you look really closely you can see a bone sticking out from under the shrub.

The back with the tree and a broken window covered up by boards.  See the smoke coming from the top of the chimney?  Somebody must be home keeping the home fires burning!

Ahhh.... that's who's keeping the fire going!  A little ghost!  I'll bet he'll sneak into the package when I mail this to a unsuspecting customer!

Pumpkins and Gnome Homes

I've added two new creations to McBride House this weekend. This is my "Man in a Pumpkin Costume". I know, original name, but sometimes you just get stuck!
Because of his big round pumpkin this little guy would not stand on his own. To overcome the problem I headed down to the wood shop and cut a piece of cedar, stained it, varathaned it and fastened his little feet to it.
I love the way he is poised... Can't you just hear him say "Do you think this outfit makes me look fat?"
Next I made another set of Gnome Homes. These ones are slightly larger than the first set, but still just as insanely whimsical!
A nice bouquet of felted mushrooms!

Some Days...

Some days when you want to just throw in the towel and forget all this nonsense business, you receive a beautiful gift.
