Horsetails Galore!

I went for a walk today and saw this bank covered in Horsetails! I couldn't resist taking a picture of these prehistoric perennial spore producing herbaceous plants. Aren't they just amazing?

How Lucky Am I?

I've decided that I love to dye yarn! It's sooo much fun! Of course I've only done it once, but I bought supplies today and I'm going to dye my heart out tomorrow! The lucky part, you ask? I needed something to rewind the skeins so that they look all pretty and variegated. How do I do this? I go to my Mom's basement and clean up my great-grandfather's wool winder! See? Isn't it gorgeous? He made it and a spinning wheel and I now have them both. And the answer to the question? How lucky am I? Extremely!

Daffodils!

Finally, after a long hard winter my first Daffodils of the spring have opened. Now it is calling for freezing rain tonight! Of course it is....I just put out my deck furniture!

Waves of Ruffles

Two posts in one day? Not normal, but I just had to share my new purse pattern which can be found at www.bellamcbride.etsy.com. I just love this one, fun, flirty and cute. I used it on the weekend and the compliments were flying! It was a hit!

I Did It!

I finally did it! I dyed my first skein of wool! I think I'll call it Strawberry Swirl. I'm a lover of pink so this is right up my alley! What to make with it, oh the possibilities are endless! I can't wait to get started!

You will have to stay tuned and see what I can come up with! A hat, a purse, a scarf? I just don't know!

Hello and Welcome to Bella McBrides!

My first blog! It's a beautiful spring day here in New Brunswick, Canada! The kind of day that makes you want to get out and dance. My daffodils are just about in blossom, my daylillies are 2 inches tall and my snow banks are almost gone.....almost! There is still a lot of snow in the woods, but the Moosewood is just begining to bud and I think we might actually make it!
