Button Brooch

Hmmm, why are reds so hard to photograph? This is a new felted brooch I've been working on, but how am I going to list it if I can't get the colour right? It is actually a maroon colour, not the bright red that it is showing. Back to the drawing board I guess!

Spring Weekend!

We went to an Antique Sale in our Provincial Capital, Fredericton, this weekend and I was so delighted with my outfit I just had to blog (or should I say brag) about it. The weather was a little chilly but I was determined to wear a skirt.
So I put on a skirt, black tights, my knee high boots, and a cute little jacket. To finish off the ensemble... my favorite Brunswick Bootwarmers! I've always loved this pattern and was glad to finally find an outfit to wear them with.

Favorite Things Friday

Not only am I'm running out of energy lately, I'm running out of things to blog about! I have lots of crochet projects on the go, but consider them "top secret" until I make more headway, so maybe I will make Friday's a day to show you some of my favorite things. This is a little mouse that my Mom painted on a very large conk this winter and after some hinting, she gave to me! Am I not the luckiest girl in the world to have such a talented and generous mother?

Easter in New Brunwick

I'm afraid my hopes for Spring to arrive have been crushed! We woke up Easter Sunday with snow on the ground. "Oh well," I naively thought, "it will soon melt". While waiting for this snow to melt we enjoyed a wonderful meal at my parents place.

The table is set in beautiful blues and whites, the company is wonderful, the food delicious.

My Mom has such exquisite taste.

These poor little Crocus keep there blooms tucked away while waiting for some sun and warmer temperatures... like me.

Then, much to my dismay, I awoke today, Easter Monday, and look what the Easter Bunny brought us! Snow, snow, and more snow! Will it ever end?

Below our house has been flooding more and more each day, and with it more and more ducks are arriving. So far just Mallards, Blacks and a few Teals, but today there are very few foraging for food. Where did they go? Some place warmer? Can I come?

Can It Be So?

My dear fellow Bloggers I can't believe it, but look! A tiny little patch of Crocus in my front garden!
Not five feet away from this delightful little patch is a snowbank that is still 6 feet tall, but I try to ignore it like a big white elephant in the room! I'm determined that Spring has finally arrived to this part of "the great white north"!

Can you tell that Loopie is an indoor cat? He decided to come out with me for a bit of sun and fresh air but he looks absolutely terrified! I was afraid his eyes would pop out of his head!

Frosty is obviously our outdoor cat... look at that look of satisfaction that Spring has arrived! I'm afraid my face is a cross between the two... pleased to see the fresh signs of Spring, but terrified that it will be taken from me! Happy Easter everyone!

Confession....

I have been thinking about this long and hard and finally decided to let my blogger friends in on something... it's not a secret, but it's something I don't often share. I was recently interviewed by Cassandra from a great blogazine called Design: Handmade that is "designed and produced by artists and entrepreneurs who share a vision of a handmade world".

While I was answering some of the questions I found that I could not answer them truthfully without telling more of my story. At a young age I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, although at the time they didn't know what was wrong with me, just that something was. I've tried everything from getting my wisdom teeth out, cutting my waist long hair, herbal supplements, diet, etc., but nothing has helped. I've learned to live with it, but this dear readers is why I don't often answer all your wonderful comments, or comment on your lovely blogs. I desperately want to and I feel guilty about not doing so, but I just can't keep up sometimes. However, be assured that I have a wonderful husband and a fantastic supportive family that understands and nurtures me. AND... the snow is finally melting, Spring is on it's way... hope is in sight!

Only a few more days for my Bloggy Giveaway! Don't forget to enter if you haven't already!

Spring is Coming?!

I can't believe it, but I think Spring might actually be coming to my house! I recently discovered that I live in a bowl and all the snow gathers here and takes forever to melt! All around me the snow is melting fast and there are definite signs of spring, but here... snow. This is the view from the back of my place. See the fields beyond? Hardly any snow. See all the snow in the front? My house.
However, the last few days has brought rain, mist, and fog and the snow has parted and lo and behold... green! LOOK! Daffodils! At least 3 inches high!

And Phlox! Imagine! Little shoots of green and yellow everywhere the snow isn't! Which isn't much, but it's something! It gives me hope.

Visitor

Some of you readers might remember my story of finding a little kitten sopping wet, injured and crying on my doorstep last summer. Well, before I found Wycket I caught a glimpse of another kitten that I was sure was a litter mate of Wycket and since I have always wondered what happened to him/her. Well yesterday I finally found out! Looking in my back door was his brother! He quickly ran away but luckily the one and only picture I snapped of him turned out beautifully! Isn't he just the most handsome cat?

A few days ago I also captured the above picture of Frosty and an unsuspecting squirrel. Or maybe he was just a confident little squirrel since Frosty didn't catch him! Whenever I see this picture I automatically see the title "The Stand Off".
If you haven't left a comment for my Bloggy Giveaway, don't forget!
